What they say ...

Be on the lookout for the fishing show we completed with The Shelley and Courtney Fishing Show. The program, filmed late in 1999, will be airing for the first time in late March 2000. Their show is widely watched throughout the western states, Florida and BC. They are based out of Vancouver, British Columbia and feature many various great BC fishing destinations, including of course, Campbell River, BC. If you haven't had the chance yet, be sure to watch their show - available on :The Outdoor Channel, Fox Sports Northwest, Rogers Network and The Sunshine Network.

Articles have been written about our unique fishing charters in many outdoor magazines, including BC Outdoors , The Island Angler and the Reel Angler and Canadian Sportfishing Magazine.

Bob McGary - sports writer for Canadian Sportfishing Magazine, has this to say about us..
" I have used Riptide Striker Lures with much success. Trout, salmon and walleye respond to the erratic vertical jigging action. The Striker can be used under a variety of fishing situations employing different techniques "

Update from Bob. "Ken - you would not believe how the Army Tank Originals in the 28 grams work for Lake Trout and Burbot. ( Don't tell Bob, they are called Army Truck!) We have been pounding fish through the ice all winter, and they work just great. I gave some to my friend to use off the pier, and he hooked something very large which he could not hold onto. He wants more. Guess he'll just have to order online from www.riptidestriker.com

Outdoors writer Ian Forbes "I really enjoy fishing with Ken - Campbell River has some of the best fishing found anywhere - and Ken is the guide I would choose"

One of my fondest memories was during the 1994 World Salmon Guide Derby held in Campbell River. On a whim Ken decided that it was the exact time to fish a new area. I am all for moving, but we had been taking fish, so why move? We did not even hit bottom in the new area when three of us had big fish on. All over twenty pounds, largest 24.5 pounds. Like I said never argue with an expert.

If I have a disbelieving look on my face, it is with good reason. The fish in the net was a thirty two pound fish. Want to know a secret - Ken had hooked this hard fighting chinook, and handed me the rod without hesitation. I don't know about you but I never pass up the chance to play a big fish.

Outdoor writer David Wei after fishing in Campbell River on a "slow tide" on July 8, 1998!
"I couldn't believe it after we hooked a salmon on our first drift and a second one five minutes later..."
Be sure to be on the lookout for his story and lots of fish photos from this July 1998 fishing trip!

"We were very impressed with the fishing and the scenery. We had no luck with another charter but we caught what we hoped for with King Jigger. My 10 year old daughter caught her first salmon and the second one was a Tyee!"
