Campbell River is located on the west
coast of Vancouver Island. Salmon Capital of the world is because we can
truly fish 12 months of the year for salmon. Yes, there are trophy
destinations that have short runs of big salmon ~ but you can go there and
fish for many days without catching any salmon !
Not so here in Campbell River. We go
out fishing any month of the year (dressed warmly in the winter) and we
find fish.
There are all species of salmon
found here, from sockeye to pink to chum to chinook to coho. As well, we
have great bottom fishing for cod, rockfish and halibut.
Eagles soar overhead, and you can
see black bears on the shore. Dolphins might accompany you on your trip,
or you may compete with killer whales and seals for your catch. |
